I think this is it!

I don't really believe in coincidence. Every person, every blessing, every heartache, every event - they're all part of some magical connection that I don't claim to understand, but that I'm slowly learning to trust.
It all leads us to where we are meant to be, and here I am, 30 years old and celebrating over 10 years in Nepal. 10 years! I know it's just one milestone out of many before, and many to come, but I am so proud of all that my team has accomplished and how these kids have grown right before my eyes. When I sit and think of all that's happened this past year alone; when I sit and think about these 30 years of life... it can be pretty overwhelming! But I can never say enough how grateful I am to be here in Nepal with my amazing kids in this inspirational community.
So many of you generous souls have been reaching out these past few months asking me what I envision for the next 10 years. What do we need in Surkhet? How can we all help? We are deep in construction of our new campus and there is no shortage of need and projects for the kids and at the Women’s Center, but I am so excited to share that a gorgeous piece of new land came up for sale!
The land is lush with terraced rice paddies, and best of all it's contiguous to the new campus currently under construction. We've been eyeing it forever, but it was not available until recently. Look how beautiful! I have the same feeling I've had whenever I've gone all out on any of the other properties we've purchased; that this is right in my gut as an investment for our children and our organization.
Our hometown, Surkhet, is developing quickly, and we are so excited to be part of these positive changes. Buying this land will allow us to continue to build on our already incredible new campus project without having to sacrifice our original vision of having an Early Childhood Village, a high school, and a Vocational Center with dozens of labs, and outdoor spaces for kids to play. This land will allow us to create something enduring and impactful for this entire community, lasting the next 50 years and beyond. One of my dearest friends and original supporters Jim Duff, or as my kids like to call him, "Uncle Jim" has generously agreed to put down half the payment for the property with the hopes that we will match the remaining half.
It was standing at this new land, taking in the quiet peacefulness of the deep greens, that I decided I wanted to dedicate Ravi’s memorial fund to also help jump start this campaign. You all made so many unbelievably generous gifts in Ravi’s honor, and I’ve been struggling to decide how I want to best celebrate Ravi’s life and keep his legacy alive. I think this is it.
Each of you have already given me and my children so much, and I hope you can also support this new land. Your gift will be matched dollar-for-dollar, and I'm able to stand in front of this new land and continue to dream because of each of you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
